A) Choose one issue
you feel passionate about and explain why
My global issue that I am passionate about is
overpopulation. I choose overpopulation because our earth can only hold a
limited capacity and we are almost at the breaking point with our population
numbers. Number of factors is causing overpopulation, reduced morality rate,
better medical facilities, depletion of precious resources are few of the cause
which in overpopulation. I am passionate about overpopulation because I find it
important that some people know that we cannot have too many people due to us
destroying the environment and the whole earth. Right now we are living well
but in a few years we are going to be killing ourselves.
b) Target
audience: who is your piece aimed at? (age, demographic, gender, culture etc.)
My target audience are teenagers and mainly
female because female have a choice of how many kids and the number of children
they want. My target is also mainly developing countries because they are the countries
that have the most chance of overpopulation and those are the countries where
overpopulation is occurring right now. E.g. Singapore is the worlds most
overpopulated state in the world followed by Israel and Kuwait, china and
India.
c) Drama techniques- Still image, Narration, Cross-cutting etc...
My chosen drama technique is still image and
narration, because I would think that the 2-technique fit in and work well with
the global issue I have. I would say that we should use still image in a way to
show that how our population is different and occurring problems (showing a
family having 3-7 kids while one family one having 1-2), Narration is good for
explaining the problem of overpopulation and showing them it in a play and
explaining what is happening through narration while still image and maybe even
cross-cutting is occurring in a play.
d) Drama mediums you could use. (sound/music, light, set,
props, costume etc.)
The song that is going to include to the play
is going to be “unto the ends of the earth” the lights are going to be going to
be bright when children are being born but at the end the music is going to be
louder and more of a rumbling and a
scary curious music while the world is falling apart due to overpopulation.
There are going to be crops and while our population is growing the crops will
decrease and while then go away as the world is having a lack of
overpopulation.
e) Give two ideas for two moments in your vision of how you
could present it, e.g. dance, mime, narration, advert, game show, song etc...
and what you intend to communicate.
I want to create a play with Narration
happening during the play describing and explaining what is happening in the
play but also giving facts and information about the real-world problems which
is occurring with overpopulation. A narrator is going to be showing the
audience in a verbal description so that the audience can understand what is
going on thought the play and the world. If the people don’t understand a play
or the situation that is being expressed thought action in a play, then the
narrator will use drama words and extended information to show and describe the
play and real world scenarios and problems.
